Ahhh... I love date nights!

To celebrate the end of the semester, and Daniel's birthday (a little late), we went to the Melting Pot for supper and then headed to the Pred's game (thanks to the Haughey's!!) We had a blast. The food was absolutely AMAZING! Of course we opted for the 4 course meal. We started with spinach and artichoke fondue, salads, the main course (2 kinds of steak, chicken, shrimp, ahi tuna and veggies) and finished up with the banana's foster fondue. We were both miserable walking to the hockey game because we were stuffed up to our noses! Of course during the second break in the game, it was necessary for me to get a giant bag of cotton candy! The Pred's pulled off a win against the Flame's: 2-1! By the end of the night, I was ready to put on comfy clothes and get some shut eye. Last night I realized just how important it really is to spend some quality time together. Sometimes we get so caught up in the fast-pace of life that we forget to appreciate what we have. I realized just how thankful I am to have the man of my dreams by my side all the time. It's important to do something special together and take the focus off everything else. Quality time is something we value more each day as we get closer to June and welcoming a little miracle into our lives. The lesson learned?? Go eat at the Melting Pot! haha... j/k... Be thankful for what you have and don't take the small things for granted!

It's baby time...

Well, to much surprise to you and to us, Daniel and I are expecting our first little bundle of joy in June 2012. It wasn't planned, but we are more than excited! We were originally thinking we would be ready to start a family in about 3 more years, but our "plan" is not actually in our hands. We just began spreading the news to family and friends since I am now 13 weeks. Some people like to share with everyone right away, but we decided to wait a bit. Thus far, everything has been healthy and I have been one of those lucky few who hasn't been sick. Just tired.... and when I say tired, I mean TIRED! But I would have to say that it is all more than worth it. It's pretty amazing every time we get to hear the little one's heartbeat. It's a blessing to be growing a little miracle. Now for the boy or girl question.... We do not find out until the end of January or beginning of February, but Daniel is convinced that we are having a little boy. I don't have any preference. I just want a happy and healthy baby! For Daniel's sake, I want him to get a little boy because that is what he has his heart set on. Only time will tell! Besides moving, having a baby, and finishing up this semester of school, there is not much more going on in the Sawyer household. Until next time....

Jump5 reunites

After almost 4 years since Jump5 disbanded, we reunited on December 5th! We have seen each other on several occasions, but this was the 1st time all 5 of us had been together at the same time! We started our night by eating at Fulin's and then moved the party to our new house. We had more fun together than I could have ever imagined possible. Not only did we play catchup, but we also reminisced on the thousands of memories we had on the road. We talked about old nicknames, all the tours we were a part of, the endless nights on the tour bus and hotels, and even more exciting, we performed Spinnin' Around in the living room of our house. All in all, I really missed these guys. It's crazy to see how life has changed so much for all of us. Brandon is married, Brittany is in a serious relationship, Libby is finishing school to become an esthetician, and Chris is living out his dream of living in CA! Not to mention, I am also married and we are expecting in June of next year. I guess it is just hard for me to realize and believe that I have known these people for so long. We shared such an amazing journey. One that can never be taken from us. After reuniting, we realized that we do not see each other nearly enough. Hopefully, this meeting opened the door to many more fun nights to come!

Just doing what he does...

This past weekend, Daniel and I went to his unit's Christmas Supper. For the first time, I got to meet all the guys I hear so much about! It was great to put a face with the names for sure and to get to know all the guys he will one day fight next to. To our surprise (well not to me) he was called up in front of the entire unit and given an award. The description was almost an entire page long so I will give you the quick rundown. The award was for outstanding performance at his Annual Training this summer. He performed at 100% on the Bradley while staying up for at least 36 continuous hours. Pretty much, he's a big deal! And I am one proud wife for sure!

Home again, home again!

Above is the our first home! And, after a very long and drawn out process, Daniel and I are once again proud homeowners! We bought an amazing house (on the right) that was in foreclosure in Spring Hill. It is absolutely gorgeous, although I am a little partial.... Now the unloading and unpacking begins once again. Probably one of the best investments that we made though this whole process, besides the house of course, is the money we spent on a Pod. It's awesome! Pretty much, Pods delivers your Pod to your front door. Then you load it up just like filling a storage unit. Next, they come haul away the Pod full of your life and store it for you. Wish I would have invented that one.... Moving this time has simply been a breeze. (of course for me because I am really at good at directing, not so much lifting....) But, I'm sure Daniel would still agree! After we FINALLY closed on our new house (11/29/11) the Pod was delivered there. Now the picking up and putting up is the ongoing theme. Hopefully we will be moved in and settled in the next couple weeks. I guess I should get back to "helping" with all that heavy lifting....
